Only in Dreams

I was having a flashback, sort of like a sequel to an epic movie where you know how it's going to end but the revelation is who becomes the main characters. This particular origin story was about the formation of a group of teenage American terrorists that I was somehow getting wrapped up with. A group of 14 year-olds orphans were teleported into the stratosphere where there was an green aztech ship made out of cubes. This ancient space relic had always been in low orbit yet undetected. A force-field keeps breathable air around the blocks however it doesn't stop people from falling through. Most of the kids fall back to earth and die I suppose but the focus is on one blond haired girl in particular who, clinging to a cube, starts pushing on the hieroglyphs or "controls" and the cubes start re-arranging themselves to form a ship/airplane/cockpit. This helps other kids to have areas to grab onto and sit in. The overall ship now resembles a skeletal Concord/F-16 Tomcat where you can see the engines and turbines as well as the occupants. This modular ship is very fast and agile. The remaining kids modify futuristic weapons and plot attacks on major US cities. It is during one of these attacks that I am recruited by the US government due to my UFO and archaeological studies to consult and help pilot a similar morphing vehicle. We have an intense dogfight over Washington DC and the terrorist's plane is severely damaged and they retreat to some unknown location. Their motives for the attacks aren't completely known but the blond girl is the leader and possibly influenced by the ancient alien technology combined with her dissatisfaction of government policy with regards to orphans.
